Effective 9-1-09, the prepaid gasoline rate increased
from 9.8 cents per gallon to 12.4 cents per gallon. The
following is a link to the State of Michigan website
providing more detail. We recommend if you have any
gasoline retailer clients that you update the rate in
Sales Tax Express 2009. Go into program and select Setup
and then select Configuration. Enter the new rate of 12.4 in the
Prepaid Gasoline Rate % field. This new rate
will be effective for any new returns/month you have not
yet processed. Therefore enter this new rate only after
you have prepared and completed your August 2009
returns.
